yuwaragi A Japanese candle stand that heals your heart with mindfulness
yuwaragi
We worked with Cement Produce Design Co., Ltd. to create a Japanese candle stand using Yamanaka lacquerware, which has been passed down since ancient times in Yamanaka Onsen, Ishikawa Prefecture, with a sophisticated design and a unique method of finishing with Japanese candle soot called "Muragumo Nuri." Murakumo lacquering has an affinity with Japanese candles, and a design that enhances it brings out the ``1/f fluctuation'' unique to Japanese candles with their irregular flame movements, creating a mindfulness experience created by relaxation during meditation time. Delivering a deeper message to users and becoming a presence that soothes their minds.
*Scheduled to be released in September

Development history of yuwaragi
・I want to create products that take advantage of Murakumo lacquerware, which uses the soot from Japanese candles.
・Now that we are spending more time at home, we want you to spend a soothing time with the flame of a Japanese candle when relaxing at home.
・I also need time to think and to be distracted. We want you to feel a moment of relaxation with Japanese candles that have a soothing effect.
・Japanese candles and lacquerware are traditional Japanese crafts. I want to create crafts that sell by collaborating with other production areas and crafts that fit the current lifestyle.
・Initiatives towards chill consumption and ethical consumption
⇒The origin of the word is "Chill out" which means to feel calm.
Why not create products that you can relax in at home?
Based on the above thoughts and the desire to create lacquerware that creates a soothing space using Yamanaka lacquerware's wood base and coating techniques, we have created vessels and cups up until now.
