This is an elegantly finished vessel made by hollowing out a thin piece of zelkova wood.
The side of the vessel is engraved with fine lines, ``Sensuji'', a unique Yamanaka-nuri pattern, which makes it feel comfortable in your hand when you hold it.
Wooden bowls have low heat conductivity, so even if you put piping hot miso soup in them, it won't feel hot.
