Utsuroi is a word that represents the slow passage of time, like the changing seasons.
We named our lacquerware "Utsuroi" with the aim of creating pieces that naturally blend into modern life while utilizing traditional techniques.
Keyaki wood is used for the base, and each piece is turned to be as thin as possible.
The exterior is finished with a glossy metallic color, while the interior is coated with natural lacquer.
The lacquer finish changes its expression depending on the viewing angle and light, giving it a quiet, metallic texture.
When held, it has a cool feel reminiscent of a titanium cup, yet you can experience the gentle touch unique to natural wood.
With a thickness of only about 1.5mm.
Although it appears delicate, wood is a poor conductor of heat, so even when hot food is placed inside, the heat is not easily transferred to your hands, allowing for light and comfortable use.
