yuwaragi is a Japanese candle stand that soothes the soul through mindfulness.

We worked with Cement Produce Design Co., Ltd. to create a Japanese candle stand that uses Yamanaka lacquerware, which has been passed down since ancient times in Yamanaka Onsen, Ishikawa Prefecture, with a sophisticated design and a unique manufacturing method called Murakumo-nuri, which uses the soot from Japanese candles.

Murakumo lacquering has an affinity with Japanese candles and a design that brings it out is an irregular pattern.
It enhances the ``1/f fluctuation'' that is unique to Japanese candles, which have a moving flame, and provides users with a deeper experience of mindfulness created by relaxation during meditation time, making it a presence that calms the mind.

Development history of yuwaragi

・I want to create products that take advantage of Murakumo lacquerware, which uses the soot from Japanese candles.
・Now that we are spending more time at home, we want you to spend a soothing time with the flame of a Japanese candle when relaxing at home.
・I also need time to think and to be distracted. We want you to feel a moment of relaxation with Japanese candles that have a soothing effect.
・Japanese candles and lacquerware are traditional Japanese crafts. I want to create crafts that sell by collaborating with other production areas and crafts that fit the current lifestyle.
・Initiatives towards chill consumption and ethical consumption

⇒The origin of the word is "Chill out" which means to feel calm.
Why not create products that you can relax in at home?

Based on the above thoughts and the desire to create lacquerware that creates a soothing space using Yamanaka lacquerware's wood base and coating techniques, we have created vessels and cups up until now.

The glass becomes hot while a Japanese candle is lit, so please be careful not to touch it with bare hands.

It is recommended that you do not use up the Japanese candle until the end.

● Do not leave the fire unattended.
● Avoid using candles that are chipped or broken.
● Stand upright in a non-flammable candlestick that fits the candle holder and make sure it will not fall over.
● Do not use near flammable materials.
● Always keep an eye on wax as it is more likely to flow in windy or swaying areas.
● Be sure to cut the wick during combustion to maintain a normal flame.
● To prevent burns, do not touch candle flames, melted wax, or candlesticks.
● When extinguishing a fire, avoid blowing it out as wax will adhere to the surrounding area.
● After extinguishing, put the remaining candle in an extinguisher (container) filled with water.
● Be sure to provide ventilation when using the product in a closed room.
● Wipe thoroughly so that no moisture remains on the candlestick.
